Easy Walking Club
Mondays, May 19, 26, June 2, 9 noon-2pm

This walk is designed for beginner hikers or people with young children and/or strollers and wheelchairs. The pace will be moderate. This is not appropriate for people with health conditions or walking difficulties. We will walk and discuss the flora, fauna and local history. Must be able to walk 0.5-1 mile on relatively level paved trail. Friendly, well behaved dogs welcome. Wear comfortable, sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.

Hike with Fido, or Without

Friendly, well-behaved dogs and their owners are welcome on this 2-3 mile hike. Dogs must remain leashed, dog waste must be removed and bringing water for your dog is suggested. Dress for the weather. We will be on rugged hilly trails and sturdy hiking boots are suggested. Bring dependable flashlight or headlamp. Campfire Club
Fridays, June 13, July 25, & Saturday August 23 8pm-11pm

Registration required

Once a month we'll go hiking to explore the woods and then sing songs around a campfire, hear stories and roast marshmallows. Hot chocolate and s'mores will be provided. Participants should bring a reliable flashlight, a mug, marshmallow roasting stick, chairs or blankets to sit on. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. Participants should be able to hike 1-1.5 miles on rugged trails. Musicians, especially guitarists welcome. A $2 donation per person is requested to fund refreshments, under 6 free. Meet at the playground in Area 17. To assure that there will be adequate refreshments, registration is required- call 610-892-3908 or email ra-nrspridlenved@state.pa.us. Youth Environmental Learning Series
Nature Club Touch and Grow Series
Tuesdays May 20, 27, June 3, 10 10:00-11:30 am or 1:00-2:30 pm

At Park Office

An ongoing club for preschool children 4-5 years of age interested in nature. Children who attend for 5 or more sessions and do their "assignments" receive a Passport to Y.E.L.S. booklet and patch. Classes will be held upstairs in the park office and outdoors. New this year, each week they will get a "homework coloring assignment." Children should be pre-registered and prepared for the weather. Call 610-892-3908 or email ra-nrspridlenved@state.pa.us. for info or to register your child. Space is limited to 10 children. Y.E.L.S. is FREE; there will be a $1 charge for homework coloring book.

Ridley Creek State Park is Looking for Day Camp Volunteers

We're looking for people to assist with Nature Kids Day Camp. Camp meets Monday thru Friday 9am-1pm in the office of Ridley Creek State Park. Session I runs June 16-June 27, Session II runs July 7-July 18 and Session III runs August 4-August 15.

Perfect for responsible teens, parents whose children are enrolled or anyone else who loves nature and kids. Children whose parent volunteers can attend camp at substantial discount. Volunteers must agree to undergo a criminal background check at no cost.
