It was another beautiful fall day at Ridley Creek State Park. People gathered to see a fantastic exhibition of photos submitted by 65 local amateur photographers for The Friends of Ridley Creek State Park annual photo contest. “Judging was difficult, as the photographs were all unique and all beautiful,” noted Carol Rubin, organizer of the event and board member of The Friends. Cash prizes were awarded to the following: For the adults: 1st place went to Hollie Riley of Swarthmore, 2nd Place to Hank Fisher of Newtown Square, and 3rd Place went to Susan Brooks of Media. For the youth category: 1st place: Lauren Remaley, Thornton, 2nd Lisa Joy Meyer of Nottinghame and 3rd Place to Dominic Papa of Havertown.

Hollie Riley, who submitted the winning photo for the adult category, commented “It was a big thing for me to enter so winning was beyond amazing. Today is my 7 year anniversary so winning the award was the second best thing that happened to me on this day!” To see photos of the other winners or to find out about upcoming events at the park, look for the Friends on Facebook (Friends of Ridley Creek State Park) or go to www.friendsofrcsp.org. 2010 calendars created with previous years’ entries are for sale at the mansion.
